04.07.15

I picked up Rory from the train station at midday and we headed almost immediately into the pub. We didn't mean to but it looked really cool so we got a Kraken Rum and Coke each before heading into town. We saw that there was a vintage kilo sale happening and Rory seemed unusually eager to go in so we did. Turns out it was run by Blue Rinse (my fave vintage shop) and although nothing jumped out at me Rory got a really  nice shirt for a fiver.

We continued to wander around town and picked up some booze and I had to stop Rory buying a hilarious and terrifying eagle head mask in the name of freedom.

We got back to the house and started to set up the BBQ. We had a nightmare starting up the fire but that's part of the fun. I played a bit of baseball and we all enjoyed the massive bubble wands we bought on a wim. nothing is more free than a bubble ....except from 'MERICA!

People began to arrive just as the BBQ was ready to cook on. The food was lush, there was lots of veggie burgers and Courtney had made loads of pasta salad and potato salad so I was a very happy bunny. Music was playing, food was cooking, jello shots were being enjoyed and both alcohol and conversation was flowing.

Things got a bit weird for a bit when two randomers showed up and asked if it was an open party. One of them, Ben, was really nice and friendly but the Andy was clearly on drugs and more than a little bit weird. In the end they turned out to be really nice people and they were very regretful for our hospitality. They made it very clear they didn't wasn't to outstay their welcome and left as soon as people went to bed.

Rory was on edge the entire night, he needs to learn to relax!
